How to make Red Velvet Cupcakes?

Up for a Valentine date? What can be the most common element of a perfect date or maybe a get-together? But why go for some shop-bought cakes when you can have a homemade treat in just very less time and with your own touch of tastes. So here we come with the Red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Follow the steps given below to make Red velvet cupcakes and make your valentine day super special.

Ingredients:

For the cupcakes:

  1. 1¼ cups (155g) all-purpose flour
  2. 1½ tablespoons (12g) Cocoa powder
  3. 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  4. 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  5. 3/4 cup (150g) Sugar
  6. 1/2 cup (120ml) buttermilk, room temperature
  7. 1/2 cup (110g) Vegetable oil
  8. 1/2 teaspoon White Vinegar
  9. 1 Eggs
  10. 1/4 cup (60g) butter, room temperature
  11. 1 teaspoon Red food colouring, or more if needed
  12. 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract

For the frosting:

  1. 1/4 cup (60g) butter, room temperature
  2. 4oz (115g) Cream cheese, room temperature
  3. 2 cups (250g) Powdered sugar
  4. 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Recipe:

Preheat oven to 350F (175C).

In a large bowl sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir and set aside.

In a separate large bowl, take butter, and sugar.

Beat it until smooth.

Add eggs one at the time, beating until combined after each addition.

Add vegetable oil and vinegar.

Then add vanilla extract, buttermilk and beat until combined.

Next, add the flour mixture and mix it well.

Add some colour and mix it again.

Our cupcake batter is ready.

Scoop the batter into the cupcake liners, about 3/4 of the way full.

Bake for 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the centre, comes out clean.

Make the frosting:

in a large bowl beat cream cheese and butter on high speed until and creamy and smooth, about 4-5 minutes.

Gradually add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add vanilla extract and beat until smooth. fill in the piping bag.

Cool the cupcakes on a wire rack. Then frost cupcakes as desired.

Red velvet cake is all ready to eat.

Notes:

  •  All cake ingredients should be in room temperature
  •  You can use all-purpose flour or cake flour
  •  Instead of buttermilk, you can use milk+1 tablespoon vinegar (mix and let stand 5-10 minutes)
