How to make Jambalaya?

A perfect combination of chicken, sausages, shrimp, and rice leads to Jambalaya. Easy to make, light, nutritious and above all delicious, with every ingredient having the taste perfectly blended. Jambalaya will surely embrace your kitchen with its catchy aroma and will leave a mark on your taste buds for a long time. So here are the steps following which you too can serve Jambalaya to your friends and family in just no time.


  1. 1 cup Basmati rice, soaked and drained
  2. 1 tablespoon oil
  3. 1 medium onion finely chopped
  4. 4-5 garlic, crushed
  5. ½ medium red bell pepper, finely chopped
  6. 15-18 cherry tomatoes
  7. 2 tablespoons Cajun spice
  8. 1 chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 2½ cups chicken stock
  11. 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  12. 8-10 chorizo, sliced
  13. 15-18 prawns, deveined


Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add onion and sauté till translucent. Add garlic and sauté for half a minute.

Add finely chopped red bell pepper.

Then add cherry tomatoes.

Add cajun spice, and chicken. mix it well.

Add soaked rice, add salt and toss to mix.

Add chicken stock and cover and cook for a minute.

Add paprika powder, chorizo, and prawns. Toss to mix. Cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.

Remove it in a serving plate and serve hot.
