So here are the steps to make Vanilla sugar cookies sat home:
- 225 grams (1 cup) Unsalted Butter
- 200 grams (1 cup)Granulated Sugar
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Orange/Lemon Zest (optional)
- 440 grams (3.5 cups) All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Take butter in room temperature. it should be soft but not too soft.
Take butter in a large bowl and add sugar.
Blend it and make smooth.
Then add the egg to it and Orange/Lemon Zest which is optional.
Then again blend it.
Take flour in a bowl and add salt to it.
Whisk it a little.
Add the flour in butter mixture.
Blend it nicely.
Then remove it on the plain surface and knead like dough.
Then divide the dough into two parts and give round shape, cover with plastic.
Keep this in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight. I like to roll the dough now because rolling now is easy compared to rolling after chilling the dough.
After 4 hours remove the dough from the fridge.
Then take cookies cutter and cut it. then keep it in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Bake at 180C for 10-12 minutes.
