For the meatballs:

  1. 600g (21.16 oz) minced beef
  2. 1 onion
  3. 1/3 bunch parsley
  4. 1 egg
  5. 1/3 cup (42g) dry bread crumbs
  6. 2 garlic cloves
  7. 1 teaspoon salt
  8. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  9. 1/2 teaspoon paprika

For the sauce:

  1. 1 large onion
  2. 3 garlic cloves
  3. 1/2 red chili pepper (optional)
  4. 600g (oz) tomato sauce
  5. 3 tablespoons tomato sauce
  6. 600 ml of water
  7. 7-8 basil leaves
  8. Salt & pepper for taste
  9. * 1 tablespoon sugar


For the meatballs:

In a large bowl take beef then add Finely chopped onion.

Add parsley and crushed garlic.

Add bread crumbs.

Add egg, salt, and pepper.

Mix well with your hands until all combined.

Form into balls. In a large pan heat oil over medium heat. Fry the meatballs.

Cook about 1 minute for each side until lightly brown and remove from the pan.

For the sauce:

In the same pan sauté onion for 4-5 minutes.

Add sliced garlic and chili, sauté for 3-4 minutes.

Add tomato sauce.

Pour water (about 600 ml) and add tomato paste.

Add basil leaves, season with salt, pepper, paprika, and stir. Bring to the sauce to a boil, transfer the browned meatballs to the sauce, reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for about 30-40 minutes. Serve.
